Nia is a low-impact movement technique, inspired by dance, martial arts, and mindfulness practices. Nia is easily adaptable to all levels of fitness and experience. Nia creates a playful and powerful experience, boosting pleasure, strength, mobility, stability, and overall well-being. Ongoing Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 pm. Feel like a new, fun and challenging hobby? Give Argentine Tango a try. Confirm dates as there is no dancing during breaks.
We will do individual exercises and partner activities to understand this improvisational dance! We will explore various concepts of connection (to oneself, to the music, to the dance partner, to the dance floor, to other social dancers).
Parking is available on campus after 5 pm.
What to wear? If you own a pair of salsa shoes, jazz/ballet flats, or Toms, those work great. If not, bring a thick pair of socks to dance in. Partner Dance? You are welcome to join with or without a partner. Those who come alone will be paired up.

As the name suggests, this night will be mostly bachata, with a splash of salsa, kizomba, and merengue.
Do not know how to dance? Don't worry! This event is immediately after Gator Salsa Club's free classes.
The dancing is free, but please support the event by buying drinks at The Bull and food at Crane Ramen.
A portion of all sales made at The Bull during the event are donated to GNV Bridge Literacy Program, a local non-profit that responds to the large literacy disparities in Gainesville. When and Where: All classes are on Thursdays starting at 6 pm with open practice after class until 8 pm. Most classes will be held in Dance Studio B, located in the basement of the Reitz Union. Classes on 9/29 and 10/6 will be a shorter class/practice from 6-7 pm and held in Studio A.
The dance studios are located on the bottom floor of the Reitz Union. Parking on campus is free and open after 4:30 pm.

This performance team will be a 5-month choreography course before the first local show. Consequent performances will be all over Florida especially at OSC 2023 and SSBF 2023. Our goal is to leave you a much better dancer than before and form lasting friendships with your fellow salsa teammates.
The audition will be a short choreography that will test you on some crucial techniques. Other information on cost, schedule, etc, will be provided on the day of the audition. Please bring your dance shoes.

When and Where: All classes are on Thursdays starting at 6 pm with open practice after class until 8 pm. Most classes will be held in Dance Studio B, located in the basement of the Reitz Union. Classes on 9/29 and 10/6 will be a shorter class/practice from 6-7 pm and held in Studio A.
The dance studios are located on the bottom floor of the Reitz Union. Parking on campus is free and open after 4:30 pm.
What to wear: If you own a pair of salsa shoes or jazz/ballet flats, those work great. Toms also are a comfortable option. If not, bring a thick pair of socks to dance in. Fancy shoes are not necessary and please avoid flip flops or tennis shoes.

A portion of all sales made at The Bull during the event are donated to GNV Bridge Literacy Program, a local non-profit that responds to the large literacy disparities in Gainesville. When and Where: All classes are on Thursdays starting at 6 pm with open practice after class until 8 pm. Most classes will be held in Dance Studio B, located in the basement of the Reitz Union. Classes on 9/29 and 10/6 will be a shorter class/practice from 6-7 pm and held in Studio A.
The dance studios are located on the bottom floor of the Reitz Union. Parking on campus is free and open after 4:30 pm.
What to wear: If you own a pair of salsa shoes or jazz/ballet flats, those work great. Toms also are a comfortable option. If not, bring a thick pair of socks to dance in. Fancy shoes are not necessary and please avoid flip flops or tennis shoes.
