Nia is a low-impact movement technique, inspired by dance, martial arts, and mindfulness practices. Nia is easily adaptable to all levels of fitness and experience. Nia creates a playful and powerful experience, boosting pleasure, strength, mobility, stability, and overall well-being. Small group classes are facilitated in a relaxed, welcoming, and non-judgmental atmosphere.

Ongoing Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 pm. Feel like a new, fun and challenging hobby? Give Argentine Tango a try. Confirm dates as there is no dancing during breaks.
We will do individual exercises and partner activities to understand this improvisational dance! We will explore various concepts of connection (to oneself, to the music, to the dance partner, to the dance floor, to other social dancers).
Parking is available on campus after 5 pm.
What to wear? If you own a pair of salsa shoes, jazz/ballet flats, or Toms, those work great. If not, bring a thick pair of socks to dance in. Partner Dance? You are welcome to join with or without a partner. Those who come alone will be paired up.

In this all-level, 3-hour workshop, we’ll explore the beauty and symbolism of spirals and mandalas in nature and human history. Through a blend of discussion, journaling, simple movement practices, and creative art exercises, we’ll engage with these patterns as tools for connection and self-reflection.
This workshop offers a chance to slow down and reconnect—with yourself, with others, and with the present moment. It’s not about creating a masterpiece or being an expert dancer, but about embracing curiosity, mindfulness, and the joy of shared experiences. Inspired by tai chi, yoga, and the Nia Technique, this session offers a gentle movement flow guided by your body’s sensations and the surrounding environment. Set in the serene gardens of the Thomas Center, under the shade of a majestic oak tree, this Friday afternoon session is the perfect way to unwind and ease into your weekend.

We will have a little Halloween Party. Most people are away, so there may only be a few of us.
Everyone is welcome.
You can bring kosher snacks meaning no meat. Dressing up is welcome. Neither are required.
You learn to dance gently, as light as a feather, without the use of force, with no pushing and pulling.
