Tango is about connection. We dance to connect with a deeper part of ourselves, to fall in love with ourselves. When we dance with another, we manifest the very things we love about ourselves, sharing them with our partner, so they may feel it and love too.
The Gainesville Tango Exchange, a sister of Tampa Tango Exchange, is a group devoted to fostering this connection by offering Social Argentine Tango classes, practicas, socials, festivals, and more. We also collaborate with other local and visiting instructors to provide as many opportunities as possible.
Tango has the potential to bring out the best in each of us, at least while in the embrace. We surrender our egos; leave prickly personality traits at the door; and cease to be realtors, students, uber drivers, engineers, young, old, black, white.
We call ourselves an "exchange" because we believe that's what happens when we dance tango. We exchange our flaws for our best ... Rena's Ballroom, 720 NW 23 Avenue, Gainesville, 32609. Trista, 862-208-2646 - [more][website][events][posts]
