Nia is a low-impact movement technique, inspired by dance, martial arts, and mindfulness practices. Nia is easily adaptable to all levels of fitness and experience. Nia creates a playful and powerful experience, boosting pleasure, strength, mobility, stability, and overall well-being. Small group classes are facilitated in a relaxed, welcoming, and non-judgmental atmosphere.

Ongoing Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 pm. Feel like a new, fun and challenging hobby? Give Argentine Tango a try. Confirm dates as there is no dancing during breaks.
We will do individual exercises and partner activities to understand this improvisational dance! We will explore various concepts of connection (to oneself, to the music, to the dance partner, to the dance floor, to other social dancers).
Parking is available on campus after 5 pm.
What to wear? If you own a pair of salsa shoes, jazz/ballet flats, or Toms, those work great. If not, bring a thick pair of socks to dance in. Partner Dance? You are welcome to join with or without a partner. Those who come alone will be paired up.

Wed 2 Dec 2020, 6-8:30 pm. GSC members, we are so happy to announce that starting this week we will be having in-person classes every Wednesday from 6pm-8pm at 100 SW 1st Ave.
A few more details about the location: it is in Downtown Gainesville, most of the street on SW 1st Ave, from Main St to Volta has been made into a public city park so this is where we’ll be holding all the classes from now on! It took us a while to figure out a place where we could safely have class and also make sure that it will be permanent rather than constantly change locations. With that said: face masks are REQUIRED, we will be following strict social distancing, if you would like to dance with a partner you must come to class together and we won't be allowing partner rotations.

Wed 9 Dec 2020, 6-8:30 pm. GSC members, we are so happy to announce that starting this week we will be having in-person classes every Wednesday from 6pm-8pm at 100 SW 1st Ave.
A few more details about the location: it is in Downtown Gainesville, most of the street on SW 1st Ave, from Main St to Volta has been made into a public city park so this is where we’ll be holding all the classes from now on! It took us a while to figure out a place where we could safely have class and also make sure that it will be permanent rather than constantly change locations. With that said: face masks are REQUIRED, we will be following strict social distancing, if you would like to dance with a partner you must come to class together and we won't be allowing partner rotations.

Wed 23 Dec 2020, 6-8:30 pm. GSC members, we are so happy to announce that starting this week we will be having in-person classes every Wednesday from 6pm-8pm at 100 SW 1st Ave.
A few more details about the location: it is in Downtown Gainesville, most of the street on SW 1st Ave, from Main St to Volta has been made into a public city park so this is where we’ll be holding all the classes from now on! It took us a while to figure out a place where we could safely have class and also make sure that it will be permanent rather than constantly change locations. With that said: face masks are REQUIRED, we will be following strict social distancing, if you would like to dance with a partner you must come to class together and we won't be allowing partner rotations.
