Argentine Tango Preview Workshop with Trista and Alper

Sun 25 Aug, 8:30-10:30 pm. UF J Wayne Reitz Union, 655 Reitz Union Drive, Gainesville, 32611. Trista, 862-208-2646. Gainesville Tango Exchange - [facebook][email][events]

Do something different.
Explore new territory.
Surprise yourself.
Tango.

Start your tango journey with our Tango Preview workshop. You’ll be challenged to think and move using tango ideas with an engaging and diverse group. You will do individual exercises and partner activities to explore what tango is all about! This class is a complete beginner workshop so absolutely no experience is necessary.

If you like it and want to stick with it (we hope you will!), you can plan to join us for classes on Wednesdays and Fridays during the Fall semester.

Where: Dance Studio B, located in the basement of the Reitz Union.

Teachers: Alper Ungor & Trista Brophy

What to wear: Bring a thick pair of socks to dance in. If you own a pair of salsa shoes or jazz/ballet flats, those work great too. Fancy shoes are not necessary and please avoid flip flops or tennis shoes.

Feel free to invite your friends on FB.

Parking at the Reitz Union garage is free & open on the weekends.

Our Promise To Our Tango Students:

Everyone is welcome to dance any role they like. We welcome and encourage men as followers, women as leaders, non-binary dancers, and any combination in between. Tango is for everyone. We promise to maintain an atmosphere of inclusion, diversity, and understanding.

Our classes will be fun and safe. We teach and enforce general tango etiquette. We reserve the right to eject students from the classes and practices if they are causing harm to anyone. This is for the safety and enjoyment of everyone. We also encourage everyone to speak up for their own comfort and safety.
