Nia is a low-impact movement technique, inspired by dance, martial arts, and mindfulness practices. Nia is easily adaptable to all levels of fitness and experience. Nia creates a playful and powerful experience, boosting pleasure, strength, mobility, stability, and overall well-being. Ongoing Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 pm. Feel like a new, fun and challenging hobby? Give Argentine Tango a try. Confirm dates as there is no dancing during breaks.
We will do individual exercises and partner activities to understand this improvisational dance! We will explore various concepts of connection (to oneself, to the music, to the dance partner, to the dance floor, to other social dancers).
Parking is available on campus after 5 pm.
What to wear? If you own a pair of salsa shoes, jazz/ballet flats, or Toms, those work great. If not, bring a thick pair of socks to dance in. Partner Dance? You are welcome to join with or without a partner. Those who come alone will be paired up.

Richard Powers is a dance historian and instructor at Stanford University specializing in both historic and contemporary social dance. He leads workshops around the world (see below for more about that). His Social Dance class is among Stanford University's most popular courses.

Want to learn tango? Come join the UF Argentine Tango Club for a free beginner tango class. Feel free to join even if you have never danced tango before, there are teachers for whatever level you might be.
Who: Everyone can come. The beginner class is geared for people who have never danced before or who want to practice the basics. The intermediate class is for those who have been to at least some classes and is for you if you feel ready and confident enough to learn some new steps. The advanced class is for those who have been dancing for a long while now and will feature more complicated steps, so ask a teacher to make sure you are experienced enough for this level.

Sun 30 Jun 2019, 5:30-8:30 pm. Join us this Sunday for our usual Sunday Class and Dance. Paul Fairbanks, our regular instructor will be teaching once again in Ocala. Build a solid foundation gaining more knowledge of West Coast Swing concepts and patterns at our West Coast Swing Group class. Stay and practice at our usual social dance, which continues until everyone is done dancing. The more you dance, the better you get. Dancing is fun.

Sun 30 Jun 2019, 7:30 pm. We are super excited to announce that we will be in one of the new homes to ecstatic dance as the beloved energy/space of Aurora Healing Arts transforms into HOWL, The House of Waking Life, a creation by Brooke Rosen We are so excited.
Our first dance will be June 30th, 7:30 pm and will be facilitated by the lovely Angela Betancourt. Our dances will then go on every other Sunday from that date forth. Beginning Sept. 1st (fingers crossed), alternating weekends will be hosted by HOWL.
This dance will explore the 5 Rhythms of Ecstatic Dance. In this environment we will let go of judgment of ourselves and others, embrace whatever emotions arise, and feel free to move, shake and groove however our bodies choose.
